Following the recent announcement of both Black Canary and Darkseid as characters on the roster for NetherRealm’s upcoming Injustice 2, four more playable characters have just been confirmed — Robin (Damian Wayne), Poison Ivy, Brainiac, and Bane.
Each character will get a complete makeover for their appearance in the game. Here’s a look at the details on what you can expect from each character.
Robin
Damian makes his return to Injustice in his original character persona of Robin (instead of the regime’s new Nightwing, a title stricken from Dick Grayson following his death in this universe). Equipped with what seems to be the sword of his grandfather, Ra’s Al Ghul, Damian fights against his father and alongside Superman, his new father figure.
Poison Ivy
A new combatant in the world of Injustice, there is not much to say about Poison Ivy currently in regards to her move-set and abilities. However, from the comics we can assume that Ivy will possess abilities related to nature. Possibilities might include a mist of pheromones used to subdue enemies, sprouts of plants coming from the ground to launch enemies,or even vine whipping attacks to show off her connection to plant-life.
Brainiac
Presumed to be the primary antagonist in Injustice, Braniac will make an appearance with a magnificent character design exemplifying his intelligence with an intricate suit. We can only speculate on his abilities, but we know Braniac is branded to be the most intelligent life form in the universe and beyond. With this in mind, it’s safe to assume his attacks will focus on mechanical weaponry and technopathic abilities, all wrapped up in his superhuman self.
Bane
Bane is another character who’s returning with a new look. The shining green of his venom display makes it much clearer just how dangerous this villain is. Bane will most likely come with almost the same move-set as we saw in the original Injustice, with close quarter combat being a major mechanic.
All these characters and more will be available when Injustice 2 releases on May 16th for PS4, Xbox 1, Android, and iOS.
With a multitude of characters in the DC Universe and many more open spots on the roster for this sequel, who do you think will make the cut? Let me know in the comments below!
