Rocket League has a new, free update coming in November. Entitled “Mix, Match, and Mutate,” the update goes back to the game’s origins of the modes and mods of Unreal Tournament.

The update allows players to “mutate” their opponents with Presets and Custom Settings.

Some of the modes already announced are “Moonball” which is a low-gravity setting with an extra boost, and “Cubic” and “Time Warp” which allow players to revisit classic “Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars” game modes. Other modes includes “Demolition” and “Beach Ball.”

The official announcement from Psyonix states that no matter what your preference, you will find a combination that works for you when the Mutators invade Rocket League. Players will have the option to create Custom Matches with these Mutator settings or use the “Mutator Mashup” playlist for predetermined Mutator levels.

Some of the Mutators include ball size, gravity, ball bounciness, ball max speed, ball type, ball weight, ball strength, pinball, respawn time, slo-mo, time warp, and boost amount.

The video teaser for the “Mix, Match, and Mutate” update also seems to suggest a new hockey update will be coming December.

If you want even more details about Rocket League’s Mutators, the official Rocket League Twitch channel is hosting a live stream tomorrow, October 29, at 5 pm Eastern/ 2 pm Pacific. They are planning to go in-depth with their new Mutator modes and broadcast them to the public.

However, if Twitch isn’t your thing and you’re looking for more text-based information, Psyonix will be hosting a AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit on November 3rd at 4 pm Eastern.

Rocket League is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. The game is set to release for Linux and Mac in the coming year. It is developed and published by Psyonix.
