Even though Grand Theft Auto V came out a few weeks ago, there has been a ton of news about the game. It comes as no surprise seeing as how the series is one of the most popular and successful series throughout video game history. There have been reports ranging from being the most expensive game ever made, to word that the petition to bring the game to the PC platform has nearly 600,000 signatures.
Rockstar is already coming up with ideas for the next installment in the series, Grand Theft Auto VI. The news comes from Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar North, in the first installment of the four-part Inside Rockstar North series written by games development magazine Develop:
“We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don’t know what GTA VI will be, but we’ve got some ideas. GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain’t no rest between finishing V and then Online. Plus we have some other things – stuff, DLC, I don’t know how to describe it exactly – that we’d like to do, and we’ll pick the right ones.”
With 45 years worth of ideas I’m sure they’ll be able to come up with another game that will blow their fans away. With the recent (albeit rocky) launch of GTA Online, it looks like Rockstar is just starting to show fans what they have up their sleeve in terms of plans they have for the series.
Have you already beaten GTA V and can’t wait for GTA VI? What would you like to see in their next game? Let me know in the comments below!
