SEGA Forever Gives You Classics on the Go

SEGA classics Sonic the Hedgehog, Comix Zone, Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, and Phantasy Star II headline the new SEGA Forever, a new service just announced by the developer for iOS and Android devices. Players will be able to download the app for free, though it costs $1.99 to rid the game of pesky ads.

Despite the retro gaming style, SEGA Forever promises more modern features like cloud saves, Bluetooth controller support, and leaderboards. SEGA also states that new games will be added to the service every two weeks, though no word on which games they’ll prioritize.

Per SEGA:

As the SEGA Forever collection expands through months and years, [and] it will include both official emulations and ported games that span all SEGA console eras, each adapted specifically for mobile devices while remaining faithful to the original games.

Sonic the Hedgehog is already available on iOS and Android devices. SEGA Forever launches globally June 22.
