Frogwares has released a new trailer for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes The Awakened remake releasing this April.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a true Lovecraftian adventure that is filled with Eldritch horrors to thrill the mystery game fanatic. The game promises puzzling pursuits, and a truly terrified Sherlock Holmes, who has met his match. The Awakened will be released on April 11, 2023, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

The game is a re-imagining of the original 2008 game, entirely rebuilt from the ground up with new technology in the Unreal Engine. Developer Frogwares, released a new trailer that is an exposition of why this game deserved to be resurrected.

 

The trailer opens with Sherlock Holmes saying that “There is nothing in this world that cannot be explained by logic and reason,” a foreshadowing of the challenges ahead. The trailer depicts a dark and haunting world, taking place in 1882, giving you a sneak peek into the otherworldly Cthulhu Mythos that you will spend your time investigating. 

Throughout your time playing, you can expect to explore multiple environments, from the classic Baker Street in London, to psych wards in Switzerland, there will certainly be a detective adventure afoot. You will discover how the infamous duo of Sherlock and John Watson came to be, and seek answers to haunting questions.
