We are moments away from the upcoming release of Sons Of The Forest, scheduled to launch on Steam for early access on February 23, 2023. The developers, Endnight Games Ltd., have decided to go forward with an early access release to involve the community in its development, stating:
“There is still so much more we want to add; items, new mechanics, gameplay balance, and more.”
Sons Of The Forest is the successor to the developers first game, The Forest (2014), and follows the same survival horror themes. The newly released in-game footage provides fans with plenty of footage to get the pre-release jitters. The developer’s new trailer provides a first look at the multiplayer gameplay of their highly anticipated sequel.
The trailer starts off as you do on any deserted island, quietly searching for resources, full of intrigue for what surprises the environment has in store for you. As the video progresses, you see the players harvesting materials cooperatively, crafting structures, exploring mysterious caves, and ultimately fighting off waves of horrifying enemies.
The trailer is an impressive treat with amazing graphic visuals that show off just how far the franchise has come. Furthermore, it seems that players will be untethered from their teammates and be able to freely explore when sharing a session.
Sons Of the Forest will enable up to 8 friends to team up to survive the terrifying cannibal-infested island together. Players will be able to share resources and work collectively to outlast the island’s terrifying mysteries. We have more Sons of the Forest coverage coming here on GameSkinny.
