As the Tokyo Game Show begins, Sony took the stage with their keynote where Sony President Andrew House said they plan to sell 5 million PlayStation 4s by March 2014.

5 MILLION!

If this seems like a huge number to you, that’s because it is. The declaration seems lofty, though so far in the pre-launch of the upcoming generation Sony hasn’t been overdoing it with hype by any means. We’ll just have to wait and see with this one.

During the address, President of Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida, also took the stage to display how Remote Play would work for the first time. The interface seemed slick and generally lag free, which is something I as a gamer and a journalist am really excited for. Still, I am skeptical about the Remote Play function, seeing as we’ve heard this before from Sony and we were left only with broken dreams.

Do you think Sony will be able to pull of their lofty sales goal? Sound off in the comments down below and maybe I’ll take you on a magic carpet ride!
