After much speculation, it’s official: The Witcher‘s Geralt of Rivia will indeed be a playable character in Soul Calibur 6 when it’s released later this year. With the announcement, Bandai Namco continues its tradition of introducing characters from other franchises into the fighting game series.

Equipped with his steel and silver swords, as well as an arsenal of Signs, Geralt will join confirmed Soul Calibur fighters Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Kilik, Ivy, Xianghua, Zasalamel, and Sophitia — not to mention brand-new character Groh — in the series well-known weapons-based combat. Additionally, The Witcher‘s Kaer Morhen will be included as a new stage.
The reveal trailer shows the White Wolf in action, and from the looks of it, CD Projekt Red’s hero is going to fit in SCVI‘s other fighter just fine.
