It’s less than two hours now until Star Wars: Battlefront‘s first main trailer will be revealed. We’ve been given tantalizing hints and rumors, wondering just how far a departure the series reboot will be from Pandemic’s original two games. Soon we’ll know, but until then, gamers can now rest easy knowing that their next Star Wars gaming experience is coming a bit faster than anticipated.
According to NeoGAF user salromano noticed that in the Battlefront website source code, you can find the following line of information:
The latest news and updates for Star Wars™ Battlefront. Available November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
If true, this confirms that Battlefront will not be coming to PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and will be next-gen exclusive. It also means that a Black Friday and/or Christmas bundle of the game is incredibly likely. We’ve also seen some new art, which looks an awful lot like the cover art for the game. It depicts a soldier standing up against an oncoming AT-AT (pictured below).
The most curious aspect of the art is the locale. It seems to indicate a Mustafar setting, yet features a Rebel Snow Speeder and AT-ATs, like out of the Hoth battle. Whether this is just an artistic decision or a hint to something more is unclear, but perhaps today’s trailer will address this potentially intriguing twist.
How do you feel about a new Star Wars: Battlefront finally on the horizon? Are you excited to take to the skies in an X-Wing or fight on foot in the trenches? Let us know in the comments below!
