EA recently revealed that an exclusive PlayStation Virtual Reality (VR) mission, “Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-Wing,” is coming this holiday season.

For hard-core Star Wars fans, this gameplay concept is a dream come true. Players will find themselves transported into an X-Wing, deftly dodging laser blasts and sending TIE Fighters into a fiery spin. PlayStation’s new Virtual Reality setup has received an overwhelmingly positive response, and there is no doubt excitement building for the Star Wars mission’s release. Those wary of the new VR technology (or terribly curious and broke) can try it out at several BestBuy and GameStop locations in the US.

As the title implies, the “Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-Wing” mission will be closely tied to the Star Wars Rogue One movie. With the movie’s release date set as December 16th, gamers can expect the DLC to arrive around the same time. EA has already revealed that the expansion pack will contain at least one new map, the tropical Scarif beach. There are high hopes among players that new skins for the Shoretrooper and Death Trooper will be included.

The Rogue One: Scarif expansion pack marks the last of the DLCs for Star Wars Battlefront, but this isn’t the end. EA’s financial officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed that not only will there be a sequel, but several more Star Wars games are in the works. “We’ll most likely have one Star Wars title a year for the next three to four years,” Jorgensen said.
