ConcernedApe has officially announced that the hit indie farming game Stardew Valley is going to be ported to consoles. Today, June 13 at 12:05 PM EST, the Stardew developer tweeted:
Stardew Valley coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Wii U! More details: http://stardewvalley.net/stardew-valley-coming-to-consoles-q4-2016/
ConcernedApe is hoping that with the help of the developers Chucklefish and Sickhead games, the console versions of the game should be done by the winter holidays of this year. The dev is excited to see what they can do with each console’s special features, such as the Wii U’s second screen.
Smooth controller performance is going to be a main priority, especially since the controller support for the PC version is unsatisfactory.
ConcernedApe also notes that the Mac and Linux versions of the game are still being developed, but are very close to completion. He is still working on the multiplayer feature as well as the 1.1 update for the game.
Fans are excited with this news and look forward to seeing what comes next.
