Chucklefish and Robotality are happy to announce that Wargroove 2 is currently in development for both Switch and PC. The sequel to the hit indie strategy game Wargroove, this sequel looks to expand the original with new campaign maps, a new setting, and an in-depth editor.
Taking inspiration from Nintendo’s Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series, Wargroove is a tactical strategy title with an emphasis on commander abilities and fun visuals. The original was set in a medieval fantasy world while Wargroove 2 will mix things up with a seafaring pirate adventure.
In addition to new commanders, which now have a tiered Groove system, Wargroove 2 will launch with three different campaign arcs and a cooperative option for each one. There will also be PvP multiplayer with local and online options for up to four players. If multiplayer isn’t your bag, a roguelike mode called “Conquest” will challenge you with unspeakable terrors (though that’s mostly because details are mum at the moment).
Lastly, Wargroove 2 will come packed with what Chucklefish calls a “new & improved” map, campaign, and cutscene editor so that you can create your own campaigns and share them with friends. The fun never needs to end when you can browse online for custom levels and get to commanding.
No release date has been announced for Wargroove 2, but fans of the original can follow the game on Discord and Twitter for any updates.
