Street Fighter 6 Year 1 DLC Outlined by Capcom

Street Fighter 6 will receive four DLC characters for its first year, with one being a fan favorite.

The first year of Street Fighter 6 DLC has been unveiled by Capcom. Today’s SF6 showcase gave us a ton of new information for the game’s “World Tour” campaign and its online battle hub. A demo was also unveiled and is out now. Along with all of that info came confirmation of which characters fans can expect for the game’s Year One DLC pass. Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma will be joining the game at the start of each season leading into 2024.

As the tweet from the official Street Fighter Twitter confirms, here’s when each character will appear:

  • Rashid will enter the fray as the first DLC character in Summer 2023.
  • A.K.I., a brand new fighter for Street Fighter 6, will waltz in during Autumn 2023.
  • Ed, one of the more maligned characters from Street Fighter 5, will make his appearance in the Winter of 2024 (which is roughly January).
  • Lastly, fan-favorite Akuma will Shun Goku Satsu his way onto the roster in Spring 2024.

It’s not the most exciting bit of news and Capcom didn’t have any gameplay to showcase, but it’s nice knowing which characters will be coming ahead of time. If these four don’t tickle your fancy, you won’t feel pressured into shelling out for a season pass on promises alone. It’s a little refreshing to see that kind of transparency from Capcom.

What is sure to be a bit more contentious is that Capcom confirmed during the showcase that these characters will appear in the game’s World Tour campaign. They likely won’t fight the player character, but you might be able to learn moves from them. We’ll find out in a few weeks when Street Fighter 6 launches.

We also know more about the game’s World Tour mode. Street Fighter 6 is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
