Last night Joey Cuellar, one of the founding members of the Evo Championship Series, shared that Evolution 2016 will have 5,065 players for Street Fighter V.

Cuellar then shared registration numbers for each title this year. It’s important to note that outside of the Smash Bros. titles, Street Fighter V still outnumbers all the other games combined. Despite the game’s lackluster reception at launch due to lack of content, its place within the fighting game community has been well established.
With many yearly events and the Capcom Pro Tour, Evolution is considered by the community as the premiere event to win. The tournament attracts players both domestically and internationally. Year after year, players use the results to at Evo to decide who the top players really are. Evolution 2016 is scheduled to take place July 15-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
