Looking for a new game to try this summer?
The development team at Vostok Games is looking for a list of candidates that would like to participate in the Alpha testing of Survarium MMOFPS. If you’re interested in the survival apocalypse genre or just wanting to battle against the ecological threats that humanity has caused themselves, this may be the game for you.
Vostok Games sent out a tweet yesterday asking for potential Alpha Testing candidates,

Details for the Alpha testing phase include the following goals. The goal for the first part of the testing phase is to have no less than 200 players on the server throughout the day and night. In addition, the game only contains team-based PvP combat for the time being.
Since it is still in its early stages of development, this is expected. The developers will include more features later, but the current goal is to ensure the main game components work properly. There is also a forum dedicated for Alpha Test participants to leave feedback for the game and report any bugs.
What would happen if mankind lost control over what it created?
This is one of the questions Survarium hopes to challenge players. A brief background of the game from the developers states,
“Survarium is a free2play MMOFPS game set in the near future. The game focuses on the aftermath of a massive ecological catastrophe on Earth, the reasons behind which are only vaguely known.”
The game contains PvP and currently has two factions called the Scavengers and Black Market. There is radar in-game location, 11 various weapons, a zone-based damage system, and a draft version of the user interface. This game version does not contain co-operative modes or freeplay game modes. Also, close combat mechanics have not yet been implemented.
If you are interested in learning more about the Survarium MMOFPS project, check out the testing diaries found on the Vostok Games Survarium forums. The game is expected to be released on PC by the end of 2013.
You can access the application on the Survarium Alpha Test Registration page.
Good Luck Survivors!
