One of my favorite type of games are JRPGs, with the Persona series being one of my favorite franchises. Now a Persona-like dungeon crawler is coming west: Mind Zero. Mind Zero is set for release on the PS Vita in America May 27th.
Mind Zero is a first-person dungeon crawler about normal high school student Kei.
Kei forges a contract with a powerful being called a MIND, and soon finds himself on the run from the government along with his friends as they try to figure out the secrets behind MIND.
In battle you can either fight solo, or use your MIND.
You have many familiar commands in battle, such as attack, use items, defend, or escape. Mind Zero also has a unique technique called Burst. Burst is a technique that, when used, allows you speed up your turn, so you can take action faster. As you use your MIND, you drain your MP. When you run out of MP, your MIND retreats (called a MIND Break), and you have to wait until you have enough MP again before you are able to summon your MIND again.
This Spring’s PS Vita lineup seems to feature a number JRPGs, including Conception II, Demon Gaze, and now Mind Zero.
Spring started off right with Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, and is looking like a huge drainage of time. I am glad to see the Vita get some support, as it is one of my personal favorite pieces of hardware. As I said before, I really do love JRPGs, so this looks like a good Spring for me. Now we need to hear some Persona 5 news.
Mind Zero is being developed by studios Acquire and Zero Div. Aksys Games is in charge of the localization. Mind Zero has a release date in America for May 27th.
