Valve is not the only company exploring Linux in terms of games creation. THQ is following suit and taking a closer look at the operating system.
President of THQ, Jason Rubin, addressed one Twitter user’s request that the publisher at least consider developing for the OS. Rubin revealed that he and his team at THQ were already looking into it.

In correspondence with Polygon, Jason Rubin expanded, saying that the massive community of gamers using other OS’s cannot be ignored.
THQ’s stint on Humble Bundle lacked a hallmark of previous indie-centric editions — the ability to play on Linux and Mac, in addition to the standard Windows.
THQ has hit a bit of a financial rough patch, so there is no guarantee that the risk-benefit will allow for such a development. To that end, Rubin says that fans have suggested ways to keep cost down so that Linux-based games could become a reality:
“Complicating the analysis (in a positive way), gamers have tweeted inventive ideas to me, such as letting the community help in the porting to bring down costs. THQ is committed to look at anything that makes sense.”
