Today, Nintendo released Yo-kai Watch 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The sequel is now available a year after the series’ debut in 2015.
Developed by Level-5, the game was designed to focus on the market of players whom enjoy monster raising titles. It features a narrative and monster theme based off the Japanese ghost story motif.
These “yo-kai” as they are called, are numerous and can be found haunting many locales. Players assume the role of a young boy or girl that gains the ability to see them. Our heroine/hero is tasked with keeping them under control — some ghosts have violent and trouble making tendencies.
With Yo-kai Watch 2, the size of the game is much larger than the first. It also allows players to capture over 400 spirits. The sequel is available in two versions; Yo-kai Watch 2: Boney Spirits and Fleshy Souls.
Fans of JRPGs and monster theme games can purchase Yo-kai Watch 2 at retail and digital via the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
