This morning, Telltale Games announced their new partnership with Mojang to create Minecraft: Story Mode that will premiere on consoles, computers, and mobile devices. The creators plan to work closely with Mojang community members to ensure the fans are happy.
Minecraft: Story Mode will not be an expansion but a stand alone title for all ages built to be interpreted by the player. That means it will not delve into Steve’s origin story nor be considered official lore.
Included on Mojang’s blog with the announcement is a link to Info Quest II, a short mini game describing the collaboration between Telltale and Mojang, the latter which was recently aquired by Microsoft in September of this year.
Telltale Games is a decade old company created by ex-LucasArts employees. They’re known for working on story-driven episodic adventure games such as The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, Tales from the Borderlands, and Game of Thrones.
