The popular game Terraria is already available on almost every system including PC, both console generations, tablets and the PS Vita. It is not currently available on any of Nintendo’s systems however. That will soon change though as Re-Logic, the game’s developers, have announced that the game is currently being ported over to both the Wii U and the 3DS.

Terraria was first released in 2011 and is possibly best described as 2D Minecraft. Player can explore, build and craft in a randomly generaTted 2D world. A sequel or rather a spin-off of some sort has also been announced as been in the works. Nintendo have certainly been invited to the party late, but it is good to see more third party games making their way onto these systems.

Amazon at the moment lists the 3DS version as due for release on 31st October 2015. If this is true then the Wii U version will likely drop at around the same time. Terraria will certainly suit Nintendo’s consoles as the 2D gameplay is ideal for both the Gamepad and the portable 3DS.

Have you already got Terraria? Would you pick it up on a Nintendo system?
