Mighty No. 9, the side-scrolling action game that releases June 21 of this year, just got a new gameplay trailer. It reveals an action-packed game and a killer combo system within a world of vibrant hues and humor.

The main hero, Beck, with his Megaman-esque suit, speeds through levels with his blast attack and his Kirby-like ability to absorb enemy abilities to beat the 12 levels. Bosses punctuate the 12 levels — but if that isn’t enough for a player, the game has Hard, Hyper, and Maniac difficulty modes. This modernized Megaman, with the fun humor found in Ratchet & Clank, appeals to the market in its wide platform release and the additional two play online and co-op modes.

The game comes from the minds of Keiji Inafune (from Megaman) and the composers Manami Matsumae (Megaman) and Ippo Yamada (Megaman). Mighty No. 9 marries elements from 8- and 16-bit classics to create a creative new platformer dallying between 2D and 3D art. Mighty No. 9 is available on major consoles on June 21st.
