Today, Disney Interactive announced the latest installment into their famous toys-to-life game, Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition. Many new characters are coming to the title, including the greatly anticipated representatives of the Star Wars series.
After Marvel superheroes were introduced in Disney Infinity 2.0, many fans were clamoring for their favorite force-powered fighters to join in the fun.
James Pitaro, president of Disney Interactive said:
“Disney Infinity is the only game where fans can play with Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters together in one experience. We worked closely with Lucasfilm to deliver an authentic Star Wars game experience, featuring some of the most iconic stories and characters from the past, present and future.”
Several new Play Sets are coming in 3.0, including one from Marvel featuring Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron, and a few based on Disney & Pixar properties such as the upcoming film Inside Out. And, of course we’ll be seeing the addition of new figures including but not limited to a new Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan and Olaf.
As for the galaxy far far away, we’ll be getting three new Play Sets: Star Wars Twilight of the Republic, which features Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul, Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire, which features Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader, and lastly, an unnamed Play Set coming this winter based on the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Arguably the biggest addition to Disney Infinity 3.0, however, is the all-new 3-D Toy Box Hub, which according the announcment, “makes it easeir for players to choose from a wider selection of gameplay experiences–including platform, racing, and farming simulation games.”
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack will be available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U this fall at a suggested retail price of $64.99.
