The internet is exploding over VG24/7’s Uncharted 4 “preview”

Always check your sources, guys.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The first rule of writing anything is generally to make sure that you know exactly what you are talking about. Apparently, that didn’t happen about two weeks ago over at the gaming media outlet, VG 24/7 when they published an article titled, “Is Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End too formulaic?” The article was based on a playthrough at Naughty Dog’s booth over at the Tokyo Game Show this year.

Obviously the headline grabs your attention immediately. Uncharted 4 is far and away the most anticipated exclusive coming to the PlayStation 4, and any news that the game might not be that good is nothing less than a potential bombshell.

That would make for a great news story… if the game was actually Uncharted 4

As it turns out, the person who wrote the article, claiming to be an “Uncharted veteran,” was actually playing a build of The Nathan Drake Collection, specifically an area from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Uncharted 4 wasn’t even available to play at the show.

This morning, an editor from VG 24/7 removed the article and issued an apology for the mistake, taking full responsibility. Unfortunately, as is par for the course, the internet jumped at the chance to make every joke about the situation that they possibly could, using the hashtag #WriteAVG247Review.

As bad as I feel for the people in the situation, some of the results are undeniably funny.
