The Last Guardian has to make a reappearance at some point right? Well according to The Guardian, that time is during Sony’s press conference at this year’s E3.
With the gaming event of the year now mere days away the website for the popular British newspaper published a run-down of their most anticipated games for the LA event.
Curiously that list includes Sony’s ever elusive title, The Last Guardian, first announced way back in 2007. The Guardian says it has it ‘on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much-loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.’
The rest of the predictions made by The Guardian are relatively safe in comparison with Fallout 4, Deus Ex and Uncharted 4 also featured.
The last footage released of The Last Guardian was in 2009, with the title plagued by development issues ever since.
Addressing rumours that the project had been cancelled entirely Sony assured fans that work on The Last Guardian was still ongoing.
The game’s director, Fumito Ueda, left Sony in 2011, but continued to work on The Last Guardian, albeit under ‘completely new conditions’, possibly referring to the games transition to PS4 or a complete overhaul of the version showcased in 2009.
Sony’s E3 press conference takes place on June 15 at 6pm PT.
