According to a post on NeoGAF, Sercan Sulun – PlayStation Turkey’s Vice President – announced on Turkish television that a PS4 port of The Last of Us would be released soon.
In the interview on CNN Turk, Sulun said that while a The Last of Us sequel isn’t in the cards just yet, “the first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy, with enhanced graphics.”
Sony has yet to confirm Sulun’s comments, but his status within the company suggests his claims are most likely true.
The Last of Us was released as a PlayStation 3 exclusive back in June of 2013. The game received universal praise upon release and has sold over 6 million copies since then. As one of Sony’s most successful PlayStation-exclusive games, it only makes sense the The Last of Us would be re-released for the company’s newest console. Other games ported for next generation consoles, like Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, have done extremely well.
Stay tuned for more information.
