The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is about a week away, and Zelda fans will finally be able to revisit the Twilight Realm on March 4th.
After Link is ambushed trying to deliver the Ordon Sword and his friends are kidnapped, he pursues the attacker and is pulled into the Twilight Realm, which transforms him into a divine wolf. A mysterious being called Midna helps Link escape, and the two team up to defeat the King of Twilight and save Hyrule from becoming shrouded by twilight.
This remastered version of this action-adventure game for the Wii U brings enhanced visuals, additional controls, new dungeons, and amiibo compatibility. The new Hero Mode will increase damage taken by 2, and no heart drops are given.
As shown from Nintendo UK’s comparison video above, the graphics have been improved quite a bit, with new lighting effects and a reduction of jagged edges on figures. The Wii U gamepad brings new functionality, with buttons that are mapped in classic Zelda fashion and a map that’s visible on the gamepad screen while the game is on the TV — or vice versa. The gamepad also adds gyroscope aiming and faster transformations between Link and Wolf Link. Amiibos add new perks, as well — using Zelda & Sheik will restore your hearts, and using Ganondorf will make Link take extra damage, increasing the difficulty of the game.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be released on Wii U exclusively for $59.99.
If you pre-order now, you will receive the Wolf Link amiibo, which gives you access to The Cave of Shadows dungeon.
