CD Projekt RED, the developer behind The Witcher series, released a new trailer for its upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The trailer features footage that is cinematic, showing Geralt of Rivia traveling through the wilderness encountering a woman in a precarious situation, and deciding to take action.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features massive open-world gameplay, providing players with in-game choices that CDPR has said will have permanent and long-lasting consequences, even if they are not made clear immediately. The trailer shows a bit of this in action, as Geralt has the choice to simply walk away and leave the woman at the hands of her captors.
The role-playing game, which will be available only on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2014, will take advantage of the latest DirectX 11 technology. CDPR has said (in an interview with Quest Gaming Network) the game’s main story will offer around 50 hours of content, plus another 50 or more simply for side quests and random adventuring.
