New screenshots from the upcoming DLC for Titanfall have revealed details of the three maps to be included in the game’s Titanfall Expedition content pack available this month.
The images demonstrate treetop parkour for one map and display small visual details for the other two. The maps are the first of three planned content packs for Titanfall and will be available for $9.99. Fans can also purchase the Titanfall Season Pass for a discounted price of $24.99 and receive all three content packs upon release, with the final two packs scheduled for release this summer and fall. The Season Pass will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
One map, titled War Games, will take inspiration from existing Titanfall maps Airbase Sierra, Rise, and Angel City. Designer, Jason McCord, described it as a “parkour playground.”
Titanfall, released March 11, has uniquely incorporated parkour into its gameplay. In fact, mastering the technique can be crucial to success in the game.
To those unfamiliar with the term, parkour is an activity reserved primarily for people with Spider-Man like nimbleness which is used to scale walls and traverse obstacles Thankfully, gamers who lack the body of an Olympian can still pull off some of the more impressive parkour tricks in-game instead.
Despite the unique experience, Titanfall is not the first videogame to incorporate parkour into its gameplay. Mirror’s Edge and the Assassin’s Creed series are also well known for their parkour elements.
With no exact date scheduled for release, fans are encouraged to keep tabs on Titanfall Expedition throughout this month for the first chance to experience this upcoming content.
