On the last leg of their campaign, Humanature Studios has met its Kickstarter goal for ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove. With the help of nearly 8,000 backers, they have reached upwards of $446,000, well over their initial goal of $400,000.
For those wondering what to expect from the upcoming ToeJam and Earl game, Humanature has given details on its Kickstarter page. They describe it as “indie, and old skool like game one, with a fun retro-comics style, and plenty of funk.” Fans of the earlier games will get to see mechanics they are familiar with such as randomly generated levels and hidden presents. New features being added include secret winged presents and hats that grant stat boosts or abilities.
It is also worth noting that there are still goals Humanature would like to see get met over the course of its last day of funding. They have met their $425,000 goal which unlocks old school skins for ToeJam and Earl, and are nearing their $450,000 goal which unlocks the Hyperfunk Zone from game two of the series. Other goals include $600K for release on PS4, $700K for release on XboxOne, and lastly $800K for release on Wii U. For now, however, it is only set for a PC release possibly some time at the end of this year.
For those that want to support Humanature with their project you can still donate on their Kickstarter campaign page for ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove, but don’t wait too long, as funding ends tomorrow!
