Tokyo Jungle is one of my top games of 2012. It might not be an AAA title, but it’s got a lot of soul. A lot of that soul is stark raving mad, but it’s soul nonetheless. That matters, damnit.
Sony announced that Tokyo Jungle would be receiving its remote play patch today, so those who own the game on the PlayStation 3 can play the game on the go with their PS Vita. While the game is PS3-native, the arcade-style gameplay is perfect for gaming on the go.
If you haven’t played the game or have no idea what it actually is, check out my review on Tokyo Jungle to get an idea of what you’re in for here.
Everything in the game makes sense, but at the same time it really doesn’t. Needing to eat and breed to survive makes sense. Being mauled by a pack of lions in the middle of Shibuya doesn’t. Neither do roaming packs of ravenous Beagles.
The craziness you find in the streets of Tokyo Jungle is something you used to expect from Japanese games. We don’t get the really crazy stuff over here that often anymore — it’s a welcome change from all of the serious titles we get these days.
