Torchlight 2 is about to get some spanning mod support, if the Steam Workshop does its magic (which it always does). The game finally received Workshop support yesterday, meaning modders can quickly and easily get their custom content out to players — and all you need to do is subscribe.
Those of us that put 70+ hours into the game can find something new in the mod selection from day one. Simple eight person multiplayer and respec potions are two notable and simple quality of life mods most people can enjoy, but the SynergiesMOD in particular is the big meaty attraction for the time being.
SynergiesMOD has been the big go-to mod for Torchlight 2 for some time now, and the features it brings to the table are impressive. The Workshop page has a full list of details, but here is a quick rundown if you’re feeling particularly lazy in the link-clicking department today:
- 106 new Elite and Hero monsters
- 6 mega-rare world bosses
- 6 rare dragon spawns
- A new town meant for level 100 characters
- New character customization options
- New pets and HP/MP/Fame UI
- Three new classes, two of which being in progress (Warlock, Paladin) and one of which being completed (Necromancer)
- Loads of balance changes including harder bosses, better gear stats, and spawn changes
- Raid dungeons (Really!) packed with some super nice loot
I really cannot stress how good SynergiesMOD is as someone who has played a whole lot of Torchlight 2.
With the Workshop now open for the game, I’m hoping more modders get active with the game and making it more fleshed out past what Runic Games has done already. The lack of a real endgame was a downer for some, as was the lack of a respec potion outside of fiddling with your config files.
If you are interested in nabbing up some of the mods for Torchlight 2 (or any game) and haven’t done so before, look for the Subscribe button to add mods to your game. Mod updates will be automatically downloaded and installed once you have done so until you disable your subscription.
This little guy.
If you have yet to pick up Torchlight 2 but have an inkling of some interest in it, the game is on sale for $9.99 Steam until April 8. Now is the time!
