Atlus announced today that they will be bringing their turn-based tactical RPG Lost Dimension to the America’s and Europe this summer.
The game, developed by Etrian Odyssey developer Lancarse, tells the story of an extra-terrestrial being known only as “The End” threatening the end of the world (as his name implies). In response the countries of the world put together a task force of eleven psychics (known as SEALED) to climb The End’s evil death pillar and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.
While it does sound like a typical setup for a JRPG, there’s a catch. Among your group are traitors working with The End to bring about the apocalypse. In order to climb The End’s pillar, you must eliminate a team member at the end of every floor. If you fail to eliminate the traitors, they’ll turn against you during your final battle with The End, making the battle even harder. In order to find the traitors, you’ll need to watch party member tendencies during combat and build your friendship with your allies through conversations.
Oh, and don’t bother looking up who the traitors are. They’re randomly generated in every play through, guaranteeing that even with a competent walk-through you’ll still have to keep a close eye on your allies.
Lost Dimension will be available for PS3 and Vita for $39.99 in both digital and physical format.
