PlayStation 4 Call of Duty: Black Ops III beta participants now have access to an exclusive Call of Duty Zombies dynamic theme for their systems. On Tuesday October 13th, 2015, a PSN notification was sent to all beta participants, telling them to pick up their new theme.

The easy to overlook message can be found under:

Notifications > From PlayStation > Important Notifications > Download the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Morg City Zombies Theme Now!

The notification includes a brief thank you from PlayStation and Treyarch, developer of upcoming Black Ops III. It also includes a prompt to immediately download the exclusive theme.

“You played the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Multiplayer Beta and helped make it the biggest Beta ever on PlayStation 4. As a thank you for your support, download the Black Ops III Morg City dynamic theme free as a gift from Treyarch.

Morg City is the backdrop for Shadows of Evil, the most ambitious and immersive Call of Duty Zombies experience to date. Call of Duty: Black Ops III returns to PS4 November 6!

Press X to download the theme.”

The exclusivity of this theme to PlayStation users is most certainly due to the partnership of Sony and Activision for this year’s Call of Duty title. All downloadable content will be available for Black Ops III roughly a month earlier on PlayStation, just how Microsoft’s agreement with Activision stood before this year.

As mentioned above, the theme promotes returning Call of Duty: Zombies, a smash hit among other Treyarch titles like Call of Duty: World at War.

The theme is truly dynamic and features irresistibly classy jazz background music, and catchy sound effects. As a player scrolls side-to-side there is a sound not unlike a revolver’s action. When the toolbar and playlist are switched back and forth, two distinct sounds are heard, though they are indescribable. There are also new sounds when a player chooses an item with cross and when they back out of a menu with circle.

The theme itself is gorgeous – a golden cityscape with a deep blue atmosphere. Skyscrapers pierce the air, while a sunny glow resonates from the heart of the city. Each of the PlayStation emblems (Friends, Messages, etc.) is highlighted in bronze and colored with a bluish-brown mixture. In the bottom right corner, the iconic III from the title of Black Ops III can be seen, and the title “Shadows of Evil” is written to the left of the screen in blood-stained white letters. The only thing that’s missing is a horde of zombies lurking in the streets below.

The theme is available now to anyone who participated in the beta on PlayStation 4. It may not feature the terrible foes of the Zombies game mode, but this theme is truly classy, and a great gift to receive from Treyarch. Call of Duty: Black Ops III hits stores November 6th, 2015.
