When asked if we’ll see a sequel to the award-winning new IP, The Last Of Us, Naughty Dog said there’s a “50/50” chance.

If they ultimately decide to dive into the project, they’ll have no problem re-recruiting Troy Baker, who was the voice of Joel in the original title. In a new IGN interview, Baker said he’d definitely come back to do the sequel. He also respects this particular developer because they’re not just looking for a “money grab.”

“Of course [I’d come back]. What I love again is they’re not going to tell a story if they don’t have one to tell. The Last of Us is not a money grab. If there’s a role for me in something in the future to do with The Last of Us, absolutely I would do it, twice on Sunday.”

Baker just finished up the recently released Left Behind DLC, which was widely praised by critics and gamers alike.  He said it was “two of the best hours of gameplay that I’ve had in a long time.” Well, I’d agree with that.

The question is, do we want a sequel…?

The default response for fans is, “Hell yes!” I’m with you to some extent. However, sequels can be tricky, especially when they’re trying to live up to such lofty expectations. I think we can all agree that the original was so amazing that a follow-up would have to be incredible. But hey, they did it with Uncharted 2, right?
