Mayfair Games, the publishers of Settlers of Catan, have announced two new board games available for preorder now. While Catan is Mayfair’s flagship game, with a prolific library of editions and expansions, the company does regularly introduce new IPs to the market.
Extra! Extra!
Extra! Extra! puts players in the journalism world by creating their own newspaper, each with its own specialty. Players use limited resources to grab attention from their rival papers (other players) by grabbing the right headlines and photos that help sell papers.
Winning requires strategies for managing everything from headlines and reporters to advertising and money. Players construct their newspaper layout to complete the issue as quickly as possible, but the winner will have the most complete paper with the best stories.
The game is designed for ages 12+, 2-6 players, and about 90-120 minutes of playtime. Extra! Extra! will be available March 30 and is available now for preorder for $65.
Flea Market
Flea Market is a dice game where players delve into a flea market to see what treasures they can find. As a buyer’s agent, each player’s goal is to buy cheap and sell for a big profit. First player to earn $45 wins.
The game is designed for ages 8+, 3-5 players, and about 30 minutes of playtime. Flea Market will be available in late February and is also available now for preorder for $21.
