Rocksmith 2014 is Ubisoft’s latest iteration of their ‘learn-how-to-rock’ game, which allows players to plug in a real guitar to start learning how to play.
Previously, Rockband 2014 was only available for PC (both Windows and Mac), PS3, and Xbox 360, but you can now also play on Xbox One and PS4 and if you are in Europe from the 7th November.
A 6 string guitar and a menu option for “Learn a Song.”
What’s new?
If you buy the Xbox One or PS4 version before January 31 2015 you will gain access to 12 free Jimi Hendrix tracks:
- Bold As Love
- Castles Made Of Sand
- Fire
- Foxey Lady
- Freedom
- If 6 Was 9
- Little Wing
- Manic Depression
- Purple Haze
- Red House
- The Wind Cries Mary
- Voodoo Child (Slight Return)
The Rocksmith 2014 teachers really want you to get your moneys worth.
If you have a PS Vita, and are getting the game on PS4 you will be able to use Remote Play, so you strum your stuff to friends and family (or your cat or dog).
If you are planning on getting an updated version you will be able to transfer all DLC over without having to pay more for them. This however will only work from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, or from PS3 to PS4. So you will not be able to transfer from PS3 to Xbox One, or Xbox 360 to PS4. Other things which transfer over the generation are the Real Tone cables and the guitars themselves. If you previously owned Rocksmith 2014 you will not be losing anything other than save data.
Will you be picking up Rocksmith 2014 for Xbox One or PS4? Do you already own Rocksmith 2014 and are planning on getting the current generation version?
