The Uncharted movie has been in the news a lot since it was first announced, but not always for positive reasons. Finally, though, after multiple delays and changes in director, it seems the Uncharted movie has started filming.
The news comes from an Instagram post by Tom Holland that USGamer spotted. Tom Holland plays Uncharted protagonist Nathan Drake in the film adaptation, said to be a brand-new story in the Uncharted saga. Holland posted an image showing a strip of fabric from a set chair with “Nate” on it in big red letters riddled with bullet holes.
Lest there’s any confusion that Holland just decided to buy a chair for himself at home while waiting for filming to begin, though, a post with the Uncharted hashtag and “Day One” accompanies the image.
That’s good news considering the Uncharted movie release date is set for next summer — for now, at least. Sony’s shuffled the Uncharted movie around for years now, going through multiple directors and scenarios before settling on Venom and Zombieland director Reuben Fleischer. And it also suggests preliminary filming is going well, since stunt work already started back in February.
Hopefully, we’ll be seeing more from the Uncharted movie in the coming months. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for it, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Uncharted movie news as it develops.
