The single biggest problem facing the PlayStation Vita? Lack of games.

This means you should be excited about every new promising title. The latest from NIS America is the popular and acclaimed Demon Gaze, which is scheduled to launch in North America on April 22. It’ll be available three days later for our European friends.

A dungeon-crawling action/RPG, Demon Gaze will be available in both digital and physical formats, so you can take your pick. As the protagonist, Oz, you will explore beautiful 3D dungeons just teeming with monsters. Key features include high-definition character and monster illustrations (all of which should look awesome on the Vita), customizable party creation (40 different character portraits, 5 different races, and 8 different classes), sub-class flexibility, and touchscreen quick-travel.

It’s one of those games that’s guaranteed to deliver many hours of intense fun, especially if you’re a fan of the genre. Granted, you really need to appreciate the distinct anime flair we typically see from NIS but if you do, you’re gonna love this.

The PSP made its mark with such games

Sony’s last handheld really excelled in regards to JRPGs and niche action/RPGs, like Monster Hunter. I’m not saying the Vita should do the same (that system has far more capability and can reach new heights), but it does need more exclusive offerings. Titles like Demon Gaze could make the Vita that much more attractive to gamers who still love the Japanese style.
