Voice Cast Revealed for Ratchet & Clank Movie

Big names join the cast of the Ratchet & Clank Movie.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

It's a bummer that the new Ratchet & Clank film has officially been delayed to 2016, but at least we have something to look--or listen forward to. The main voice cast for the movie was revealed, likely as a ruse to hold us over. But, the cast includes some pretty big names, so it worked!

James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Johnny Test and Obi-Wan Kenobi in animated television series Star Wars: Clone Wars will be reprising his in-game role as everyone's favorite gun-slinging Lombax, Ratchet.

David Kaye is also coming back to voice half-titled character, Clank, the metallic sidekick with big brains and comparable sass. Since the last game in the series, Kaye has been busy voicing other animated and video game characters such as J.A.R.V.I.S. in both Marvel's Avengers Assemble and Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Hero Edition.

Going along with the theme, Dr. Nefarious is getting his classic voice back with the inclusion of Armin Shimerman, who you older readers might also know as Quark from Start Trek: Deep Space Nine

And what would the quirky narcissistic Captain Qwark be without the return of his original voice actor, Jim Ward? I guess he'd be quiet...which might be nice.

One of the new big additions is the world's favorite supporting actor, Paul Giamatti. You probably know him from his roles in Saving Private Ryan and, more recently, Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Well he's sticking to the villain thing and will be playing the voice of Chairman Drek, the films main antagonist and leader of the Blarg.

Bella Thorne, known for her roles as Ruthy Spivey in the TV series My Own Worst Enemy and CeCe Jones on Disney Channel's Shake It Up! will also be joining the cast, but as a new character: the Galactic Ranger, Cora.

Acting legend, John Goodman will be taking a break from playing Monster Inc.'s Sulley to voice yet another new character to the series, Grimroth. Though details are scarce, we know that he will be the mechanic mentor of Ratchet, a perfect fit for Goodman, who spent years teaching us life lessons as the stern, but loving father in Roseanne

And the new characters just keep on coming. Rocky, I mean, Sylvester Stallone will be playing Chairman Drek's villainous lieutenant, Victor Von Ion. I'd like to hear Stallone try to say that name three times fast.

Lastly, Clerks II and Daredevil's Rosario Dawson is joining the cast as new character Elaris, a member of the Galactic Rangers' support team. Calm down, guys. It'll just be her voice.

So how do you all feel about the cast? Did you have another actor in mind for one of the roles? Worried about being able to understand Sylvester Stallone? Let us know in the comments below!
