If you have an Xbox One, but no way to play online with your friends, you’re in luck. From today until Sunday, you’ll be able to play online with friends for free. All of the benefits of an Xbox Live Gold account will be available to all Xbox One owners.
Another great benefit of this weekend long deal is that the award-winning sports game, Rocket League, will be available to play for free all weekend long. This fast-paced game of soccer meets race car driving is the perfect game to try out with friends and take advantage of the free multiplayer and party chat with. Of course, any other games you’ll want to play with friends, such as The Division or Call of Duty: Black Ops III you’ll have to buy yourself.
Generally, multiplayer on Microsoft’s consoles requires a Gold account, which costs about $50 a year. While fairly pricey, members also get free games and deals as part of the deal and features like party chat are included.
Are you excited for the free weekend of multiplayer, or should Microsoft just make multiplayer free all the time? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
