Behaviour Digital have announced that their new Warhammer game, Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade will be launching in the Americas for PCs on September 23, 2016, with the console version soon to follow.
In a press release, Behaviour Digital’s CTO & Senior Vice President of PC-Console Publishing Stephen Mulrooney addressed the decision to halt console development, stating that the company is “committed to delivering the best experience for the release,” adding that the PC version would match the company’s ambitions “in terms of content and quality.” He also noted that it would set things up for free lifetime expansions.
To pause the development of the console versions was a tough decision but will result in an optimized and extended experience when released.”
Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade will take players into a vicious battle between four factions — Eldar, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Space Marines — in the 41st millennium in order to gain control of a world at war. Players will be able to choose between PvP or PvE missions in which squads will have to work together and engage in massive battles to “exterminate enemy factions.” Players can choose from twenty different sub-factions, take advantage of hundreds of weapons, and use customization options and accessories drawn from 29 years of Warhammer 40,000 lore to “create their perfect warriors.”
