Yes, that is less than a week until one of the biggest changes in the game happens; deck building. If you’ve been playing Duels, you know that up until now, you could only unlock cards for your existing decks, but you never had the option to create your own from scratch. That’s all going to change with your personal Sealed Pool in Duels 2014.

For those who don’t know, Sealed Deck gives you six booster packs, each containing 15 random cards which you use to build a deck. You create your deck from the cards you received; if you get some pretty good blue spells you would create a deck around those. For new players, Duels will build your deck for you. You can add cards that you definitely want to play with, and just let the computer do the rest of the work, or you can leave it up to the computer entirely.

We will also bring some plot in this installment. The campaign mode in Duels 2014 focuses on Chandra Nalaar, who is hunting down an enemy planeswalker named Ramaz. Each area is a different plane, from Innistrad to Zendikar and Ravnica, and each will feature decks based on each of the planes. For example, you could encounter a zombie deck in Innistrad. Videos and galleries will also be available so you can get a feel for the different planeswalkers.

Like the previous installments, you will be allowed to play with ten decks which you unlock while playing the game. With there still being a heavy focus on mono-colored decks, they are bringing in some variety with a Blue and Black deck, a Black, Red, and Green deck, and a Red, White, and Green Slivers deck.

As always, when you purchase the game on your respective platform you will be able to redeem a code online and go to your local gaming store to receive a Magic 2014 – Duels of the Planeswalkers Promotional Booster Pack featuring an alternate-art premium promo card. These boosters will be featuring cards from the newest Core Set, so you’ll be able to get a taste before anyone else.

If you love Magic: the Gathering I definitely suggest you purchase the next installment for only $9.99 on your platform of choice. This is a pretty good deal to hold you over until the card expansion set is released July 19.
