OMG! HOLY CRAP! OMG! OMG! GASP GASP!! SHhjbljkdnhkfojnhpoknhloaiju;l!!!!! Yeah, you get the point.
The day has finally come! Rejoice fellow Freemans, for Valve has finally announced HALF-LIFE 3!!! WOOOOT!!!
Sources at Valve confirmed the news earlier this morning:
“We are proud to finally announce that yes, we are working on Half-Life 3 and we are working toward a fall 2015 release.”
If you have been living under a rock, on Mars, or anywhere outside the proximity of Earth, then let me explain some things.
Half-Life is a game released by Valve back in good ol’ 1998. The game was so great that it spawned a popular mod which eventually became what we know as Counter Strike. After that, Half-Life 2 came out and revolutionized what a first person shooter could be on a PC.
A few years later, Valve releases the Orange Box, which contains a well-known game called Portal, which is based in the Half-Life universe. So needless to say, the Half-Life franchise is incredibly important to gaming culture and is one of the staples of the gaming industry.
However, since the release of the last episodic expansion for Half-Life 2, titled Half-Life 2: Episode 2, back in 2007, no official information has come out to suggest that Valve would release a new Half-Life or even if it was in development at all. Some rumors even suggested that Valve would never revisit the game because of being focused on other franchises like Counter Strike or Left 4 Dead.
Well those naysayers were wrong, weren’t they? MWAHAHAHAH.
Let me say that I am so glad to finally know that a new game in one of my most beloved franchises is finally going to release. I don’t even care if I have to play it on SteamOS or buy a SteamBox. It will be well worth it! I can finally know what happened to Gordon and Alyx. I can finally see a next-gen version of that famous red crow bar. I can finally play Half-Life 3!
So are you as excited about Half-Life 3 as I am? Please comment below and share.
