Back in January, Blizzard teased World of Warcraft‘s latest expansion, Battle For Azeroth, would release on or before Sept. 21. And today the developer confirmed that. Battle for Azeroth will release for PC on August 14, more than a month than previously anticipated.
Pitting players in a reignited war between the Alliance and Horde, Battle for Azeroth will introduce a bevy of additions to World of Warcraft. The expansion will feature two brand-new (and previously unexplored) islands in Kul Tiras and Zandalar, as well as new world quest to spur players forward in their adventures. On top of that, 10 new dungeons will be added alongside additional raids and a new RTS-inspired game mode called Warfronts.
New races will also enact confederacies with the Alliance and Horde in Battle for Azeroth. For the Alliance, the Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves will join the fight, while the Highmountain Tauren and Nightborne will fight alongside the forces of the Horde.
And finally, level caps will increase to 120 in the newest WoW expansion. For players who preorder Battle for Azeroth, a 110 boost for any character will be included, as well as two exclusive mounts. The expansion’s base edition will run at $49.99, while the deluxe edition will be $69.99.
