A World of Warcraft film has been officially confirmed. During the Comic-Con panel Warner Bros. screened test footage from the film, which will be directed by Moon and Source Code‘s Duncan Jones.
Warcraft, the name it was called in the teaser, was described by those in attendance as a faithful adaptation of the video game world. The movie is set to start production early next year.
The trailer took place in a desert field outside of Hellfire and featured an armored human warrior drinking a potion and drawing a sword just before battling a hammer-wielding orc. With the combination of live action and computer generated effects, the trailer got everyone excited.
Jones told Comic-Con attendees that he’s been waiting for the opportunity to do the film for a long time and is excited to enter the world of Azeroth. A company representative said,
“We are excited about the Warcraft movie, which begins production in 2014, and we look forward to sharing more in the future.”
As a huge WoW fan, I’m a little sceptical about the film. How do you feel about Warcraft and do you think it will be successful?
