As seen above, John Cena appears in the tweet doing his signature military salute and “You Can’t See Me” taunt. Cena has already been confirmed for the game, and he could be the cover star. Of course, his appearance in the tweet does not guarantee that that will be the case. Cena previously starred on the cover of WWE 2K15 as well as on several WWE SmackDown vs. Raw covers before the series changed its name in 2011.
Other recent cover stars have included “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on last year’s edition and The Rock on WWE 2K14.
WWE 2K17 will be available in October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is currently available for pre-order through the 2K Store and WWEShop, as well as other outlets.
