Xbox Summer of Arcade 2013 Announced at E3 - check out the games!

Among summer scenes of all the things you won’t be doing if you are playing their console, Microsoft has announced the return of its Xbox Live Summer of Arcade. It’s slotted for August 7th, and is bringing with it four shiny new titles.

The games include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, a very exciting return to stardom for the ninjas. Published by Activison, Microsoft has long been under a game-love triangle with them and Nintendo. The marriage is now successful, and you can now be aiming your well perfected ninja skills at bad guys soon.

Additionally, this year’s Summer of Arcade will include Flashback, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and Charlie Murder. Flashback is a remake of from the original in 1992 Flashback: Quest for Identity. After a over 20 year break, the game will receive many much needed mechanical face-lifts.

Not much yet is known about Charlie Murder, other than its developer Ska Studios. On the other hand, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a game that, according to its creators, is meant to be more “storylike” and less “gamey”. As per director Josef Fares:

“The idea is that you will feel that your left hand is big brother and the right hand is little brother…”

It should be noted although Microsoft has confirmed the start date to roll-out these games is indeed August 7th, the order and duration in which it will take them to come out is unknown.

I'm a 29 year old Jersey girl who loves games. I currently work full time, volunteer part time at this awesome non-profit called Amman Imman, and go to school part time. I also train in jiu jitsu. So time isn't quite on my side (unlike that song says). I have been trying unsuccessfully for years to clone myself so I can devote one of me to boring stuff like working and laundry - thus allowing more time for gaming. I'm willing to offer large sums of imaginary money to any who can make this happen.
