A lot of the new tech features for Xbox One seem to include incorporating the player to the console even more than ever before. The rumors on what the new Xbox controller would be have been circling around the web for a while now, and a lot of those theories included an HD screen to be incorporated into the center of the controller. Xbox World Magazine said it would imitate the Wii U in this fashion.

The reveal showed something completely else. The new Xbox controller will have:

  • 40 design innovations
  • a new battery compartment
  • new impulse triggers
  • and a new redesigned D-pad.

Most importantly, no HD screen will be added to it. The Xbox One will feature voice commands, powered by the Kinect, and this may be part of the reason it does not need this screen. On the other hand, since the Wii U didn’t do as well as Nintendo hoped, it’s not terribly surprising they didn’t mimic it.

I'm a 29 year old Jersey girl who loves games. I currently work full time, volunteer part time at this awesome non-profit called Amman Imman, and go to school part time. I also train in jiu jitsu. So time isn't quite on my side (unlike that song says). I have been trying unsuccessfully for years to clone myself so I can devote one of me to boring stuff like working and laundry - thus allowing more time for gaming. I'm willing to offer large sums of imaginary money to any who can make this happen.
