The Xbox One might be launching later than most expected. According to section 12 of the rules for the Mountain Dew/Doritos’ Every 2 Minutes Xbox One contest, the Xbox One is scheduled for “a targeted launch date of late November 2013.” This could very well mean the Xbox One is set to release after the Playstation 4. This could put a damper on the sales for the Xbox One and give stronger sales numbers for the PS4.
Keep in mind this is all speculation because of what might be a mix up or a bad statement on the contests rule makers’ fault; the Xbox One could very well launch November 5th, as many have speculated. The definition of ‘late’ pertaining to a month is normally in the last week of a month, so that would give the PS4 a one week head start in sales. This could very well be the life and death of Microsoft’s new console.
Microsoft has confirmed a launch in November, but the date has yet to be announced.
