Xbox One outsells PS4 E3 week, but Sony wins June

Despite selling well during E3, the Xbox One could not surpass the PS4's sales numbers in June.

According to Xbox Marketing Executive Aaron Greenberg, the Xbox One outsold the PlayStation 4 during the week of E3.

Greenberg also stated that, compared to June of 2014, Xbox One sales went up 51%. Unfortunately for Xbox their E3 week success could not be sustained, as Sony’s PlayStation 4 still managed to outsell the Xbox One in the month of June.

This success is, in part, due to the sales of the PlayStation 4 Batman: Arkham Knight bundle.

This fall will be a very big test for Microsoft, who wields a strong lineup of first-party and third-party games. Additionally, Microsoft will be making backwards compatibility available for all Xbox One owners this fall.

If all of these big fall releases cannot give the Xbox One the edge to catch up with the PlayStation 4 in sales, I do not know what will.

Look for, at the very least, a tight console race this fall/holiday season, and let me know in the comments if Microsoft has enticed you with the Xbox One.
